As some of you may know the time for Redhead Day UK is fast approaching again so we decided we should interview the coordinator and creator of Ginger Parrot! She’s got some great stuff in store for us this year at Redhead Day UK and, to be honest, we can’t wait to see you all there! Without further ado here is 21 questions with Emma Kelly part 1!
Describe yourself in 3 words
Excitable, dedicated, and attentive!
Where did you get the idea for Ginger Parrot?
I studied Journalism at university, and after not falling straight into a reporter job after graduating, I decided I wanted to work for myself and do something that hadn’t been done before as well as exercising my writing skills.
What is it like to work with a bunch of redheads at Ginger Parrot?
The best! You instantly have a connection with a redhead when you meet them, and like you’re in an exclusive club. All of Ginger Parrot’s writers are awesome!
What inspired you to create Redhead Days UK?
I joined the Redhead Day UK team last year when it moved down to London to expand its reach. Just look around the UK population – it’s impossible not to have a redhead event!
What do you have exciting in store for the Redhead Days UK this year?
Heaps of stuff – this year we will have a whole hour of comedy which is totally different to other years. Also, our nominated charity is the incredible skin cancer charity Skcin, so we’ll be raising money for them on the day, and all of our profits will go to their cause.
What’s your favorite part about being a redhead
The rarity and the weird redhead health facts that come out – we don’t go grey and we’re very good at controlling our body temperature.
Where would you go in a time machine and why?
Definitely childhood – actually I’d like to visit my parents when they were kids to see what they were like.
If you could have any other power besides being a ginger, what would it be?
It would definitely be teleportation, imagine going anywhere!
What makes you laugh the hardest?
People or animals falling over, it’s hilarious!
How do you like to de-stress?
It really helps me relax if I’m reading, knitting or roller skating.
We hope you’re as excited for Redhead Day UK as we are! Being a major sponsor we’d like to see as many of our members join us there as possible! In the mean time we hope you’ve enjoyed these 21 questions with Emma Kelley part 1, stick around for part 2!
